Thinking about Omnivores Dilemma? Interested in the food movement here in Connecticut? Do you like working with youth ages 4 -18? FoodCorps and Food Justice Youth Corps are two AmeriCorps programs working towards a more secure and just food system in CT. Join us on Thursday, February 12 from 4:00 - 5:30 in The Class of 1947, Babbidge Library to learn more about our programs and find out how you can be hired for a full time position in 2015.

FoodCorps is a nationwide team of AmeriCorps leaders who connect kids to real food and help them grow up healthy. FoodCorps is creating a future in which all our nation’s children––regardless of class, race, or geography––know what healthy food is, care where it comes from, and eat it every day. Service Members teach nutrition, build school gardens and source local food for schools. Food Justice Youth Corps is an AmeriCorps VISTA project that envisions a generation of young leaders (ages 13-18) moving low-income communities across Connecticut toward a more just food system. VISTA members serve at high-impact organizations helping facilitate and implement the programs that empower these youth to engage, educate and energize their communities.
