Intellectual Property Basics for Tech Entrepreneurs

A time to learn and get answers from some of the best IP lawyers in the region! The Technology Incubation Program (TIP) would like to invite you to a learning and networking event for current and would-be CEOs of for-profit start-ups where we will discuss “ Intellectual Property Basics for Tech Entrepreneurs”. Topics of the presentation include:

• What is patent-eligible in biotech and IT/software?

• What's the difference between freedom of practicing one's invention and the right to exclude others from practicing one's invention?

• Key events over the life of a patent

• Plenty of time for questions!

TIP is a program of the Office of the Vice President for Research, Technology Commercialization Services. After the presentation, you are invited to stay for networking and refreshments. Presenters: Anthony D. Sabatelli, Ph.D. - former biotech executive and research scientist, chair of Dilworth IP's biotechnology and life sciences practice; and Fred Spaeth, MBA- more than 20 years' experience in IP law, providing counseling on patent and trademark issues
