Grossman Auditorium, 400 Farmington Ave.

Every year the UConn Partnership for Excellence in Structural Biology (Storrs and Farmington) sponsors a well-attended regional symposium. Each year’s symposium covers a defined topic in Structural Biology such as Membrane Proteins (2005), Macromolecular Assemblies (2006), Protein-Nucleic Acid Interactions (2007), X-ray Crystallography, Computational Biology (2008), Structural Biology of Host-Virus Interactions (2009), Biophysics of Protein Folding and Misfolding (2010), Structural Basis of Drug Resistance (2011), Protein Dynamics: From Folding to Function (2012), Structural Biology of Cancer (2013), Structural Biology of Inflammation (2014) and in October we hosted Structure and Dynamics of Intrinsically Unfolded Proteins (2015). The subject of the 2016 North Eastern Structure Symposium (NESS) is "New Paradigms in Drug Discovery", featuring a Plenary Lecture by Dr. Brian Shoichet, UCSF, entitled "Cure for Pain”. The meeting features additional prominent investigators in drug discovery and structural biology from across the Northeast. The meeting is Friday, October 14, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, in the Grossman Auditorium at 400 Farmington Ave., Farmington. Additional information and registration are available at . There will be posters and poster prizes. We will also be honoring our beloved friend and colleague Dr. Amy Anderson with a special tribute at this meeting. Amy passed away July 17, 2016.
