Speakers: Katherine Coyner, MD Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery UCONN Musculoskeletal Institute UConn Health Center

Title: Office Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Identify common ortho problems of the knee and shoulder. 2. Gain an understanding of when advanced imaging (MRI) is warranted. 3. Discuss when and how to do office injections.

Adam Lindsay, MD Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery UCONN Musculoskeletal Institute UCONN Health

Title: The Management of Skeletal Metastatic Disease

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Identify diagnostic tools and a diagnostic algorithm for patient with suspected skeletal metastases. 2. Discuss potential treatment options for skeletal metastases. 3. Identify patient at risk for pathologic fracture.

Target Audience: The Department of Medicine faculty, housestaff and students, though many topics will be of interest to housestaff, students and other faculty members within the University of CT Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine..
