Cancer Education Course Series: Medical Marijuana Use in Patients with Cancer

Target Audience: Primary care physicians and APRN’s,, medical oncologists, gynecologists, gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, physician assistants and any other clinicians involved in the management and treatment of patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Explain the pharmacologic principles and evidence-based indications for use of medical marijuana in patients with cancer. 2. Explain the pharmacologic principles and evidence-based indications for use of medical marijuana in patients with cancer. 3. Choose an approach to managing medical marijuana in a patient with cancer, using regulatory and clinical knowledge.

Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
