March to End Victim Blaming

Friday, October 13, 2017
4:00pm – 7:00pm

Storrs Campus
Fairfield Way

Formerly known as SlutWalk, the March to End Victim Blaming aims to combat the idea that anyone deserves to be a victim of sexual violence. The March begins at 4:00pm on Fairfield Way with opening remarks from the officers, then proceeds into a protest march around campus. After we return to the top of Fairfield Way, we have featured keynote speakers that work in the area of sexual violence in various capacities share their work. Following the keynote speakers, the stage will be opened to any students who wish to share their own experiences with sexual violence and/or victim blaming. Finally, we have a free-form discussion in the Student Union room 303 around 6:00pm with food and refreshments in order to reflect on the events of the day.

Attending this event counts towards Sophomore Honors.
