Still Together: Dialogue for Interconnectedness

Tuesday, December 5, 2017
7:00pm – 9:00pm

Storrs Campus
Rome Ballroom, South Campus

Please join fellow members of “Husky Nation” this Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for an evening of respectful dialogue on who we are as a university community, what we value, and how we uphold everyone’s right to be heard and seen in the years ahead.

As a public university, UConn is an indispensable resource for its students, faculty, and the broader society. It works not only because it provides us with the individual opportunity to get an education or do research, but because of our mutual commitment to it as a space for modeling how to live, learn and work in our local and global communities.

To reaffirm that commitment and protect that space, we invite you to join in dialogue with others. Dialogue is one of the most powerful tools we have to build understanding across difference and create inclusive, productive communities. True dialogue requires the bravery to speak honestly and unscripted, and the discipline to listen with empathy and remain present, especially when trust, respect, and safety have been called into question.
