Livable Garden Design

Sunday, February 25, 2018
1:00pm – 4:00pm

Repeats every 14 days until 02/25/2018.

Tolland County Agricultural Center, Vernon

Good garden design starts with an understanding of both the plants and the space that will be used. A “yard” is simply a space, while a “garden” has organization and purpose. This basic garden design class is being offered in the Vernon area this term. The first session covers identifying and defining your location’s specific purpose along with the nuts and bolts of basic design: tools, site analysis, measuring and color and design principles. Students will then have two weeks to develop a garden design on their own. We will share the results in the second session, along with suggestions and feedback. Students can work on a new or existing garden.
