MCB Welcomes Kevin Kohl:

Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Pittsburgh

Seminar Title: Who’s in charge here?: Microbial contributions to animal physiology, ecology, and evolution

Dr. Kohl obtained his B.S. from University of Wisconsin – Madison, and then moved to the University of Utah to complete his PhD with Dr. Denise Dearing. He obtained an NSF International Postdoc Fellowship to conduct research on lizards in Argentina, and then an NIH T32 Training Grant to conduct gastroenterology research at Vanderbilt University. He began as an assistant professor at University of Pittsburgh in 2017 to study interactions between various vertebrate hosts and the communities of gut microbes that they host.
