Attend the TEDxUConn Conference on October 6th

Sunday, October 6, 2019
9:30am – 4:30pm

Storrs Campus
Lecture Hall

The theme for this year’s conference is Crushing the Comfort Zone. “Comfort zones are where we feel at ease as individuals, organizations, or as a society at large. They are familiar places, however nothing ever grows there. Those who are most successful constantly challenge these comfort zones rather than letting their familiarity define them.”

The conference will be held on Sunday, October 6th on the Storrs campus. The event will be comprised of two sessions, the first from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the second from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Given the limited space and our desire to maintain the intimacy of a TED event, please apply for whichever session best fits your schedule. The event will be simultaneously streamed nearby so that all may enjoy the event in its entirety. Lunch will be provided in between sessions for event attendees. Our event is generously supported by a number of departments of the University, and as a result it is entirely free of charge. Applicants are limited to people affiliated with the University of Connecticut (at any campus and in any capacity). We can only admit a very limited number of attendees, so please put your best foot forward to help us get to know you and why you would like to attend. Spend as much time on this application as you feel it is worth. In consideration for everyone applying, please be sure that you will be able to attend the session you apply for. If you learn that you will not be able to attend the session you applied for, please email us at tedxuconn@gmail.com. The deadline to submit this application is August 24th at 11:59 PM. You will be notified shortly thereafter if you have been selected to attend, and before the event we will solicit confirmation of your availability by email.
