Title: Improving Outcomes for Older Adults with Chronic Back Pain and Depression: Development of a Novel Behavioral Intervention

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):

1. Describe the importance of comorbid chronic back pain and mental health diagnoses in older adults. 2. Discuss the rationale and theoretical underpinnings for a behavioral intervention for older adults with comorbid CLBP and depression. 3. Appreciate the importance of obtaining feedback from different stakeholders groups to develop, adapt and evaluate a novel intervention.

Target Audience: The Department of Medicine faculty, housestaff and students, though many topics will be of interest to housestaff, students and other faculty members within the University of CT School of Medicine and Dental Medicine.

Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
