"Noblewoman and Child and 16th-Century Spanish Portraiture"

Sixteenth-century Spanish portrait painters were influenced by Flemish painters, and Alonso Sanchez Coello's portrait is an excellent example of a 1590s portrait of a devout and important noblewoman.
