Honors in Judaic Studies: UConn and Beyond

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
5:00pm – 6:00pm

Storrs Campus
Class of 1947 Room

If you are a Judaic Studies major or have an interest in becoming one, join Jeffrey Shoulson, Doris and Simon Konover Chair of Judaic Studies, Director of the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life, and Professor of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages and English, and Stuart Miller, Professor of Hebrew, History, and Judaic Studies, and Academic Director of the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life, for a discussion about what it means to join this field. In addition to an opportunity to spend time with senior faculty members from this discipline, you can look forward to hearing answers to questions like these: What does it mean to be in this major? What research opportunities are available? What are the career possibilities? What are the best kept secrets of being successful in this major? What paths and opportunities did Professor Shoulson and Professor Miller take to get where they are? How does the knowledge generated by this major impact society? Be sure to come with your own questions, too. Attending this event counts toward Sophomore Honors.
