The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) was established in 1995 as a peace initiative and is now composed of over 100 young people from all over Ireland - north and south. As an internationally recognized youth orchestra, CBOI is one of Ireland's flagship peace initiatives and has become the most acclaimed youth orchestra that Ireland has ever produced. Led by conductor, Gearóid Grant, the orchestra is host to leading national soloists including violinist Patricia Treacy, tenor Emmanuel Lawler and Uilleann piper Patrick Martin.

The Orchestra has performed at all the major venues in Ireland, entertained ambassadors at the Royal Albert Hall in London, toured multiple times to the United States, and represted Ireland at the World Expo in Shanghai. The CBOI also plays a vital role in enhancing music and arts education in Ireland and beyond through the Peace Proms program. Peace Proms is a choral education program for primary school children which impacts 17,000 children from approximately 500 schools throughout Ireland and Europe each year.
