Splitting the World Open: Spoken Word & Everyday Activism

Wednesday, October 22, 2014
1:30pm – 3:00pm

Storrs Campus
Laurel Hall, Room 201

Poet & activist Muriel Rukeyser once said, "If one woman were to speak the truth about her life, it would split the world open." Join spoken word poet and interdisciplinary artist Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai in this interactive writing and performance workshop, where we create words for the page and bring them alive on the stage, exploring what it means to create change in our everyday lives. No experience necessary. Just a desire to write, move around, and make your voice heard!
