“2014 Nobel Prize in Physics – An Overview”

The Nobel prize in physics in 2014 has been awarded to Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and, Shuji Nakamura “for the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources”. This talk will discuss the science, the technology, and, the impact of this invention.

Refreshments will be prior to the talk at 3:30 p.m.,
