Privacy and Police at UConn

Wednesday, October 15, 2014
6:00pm – 8:00pm

Storrs Campus
Chemistry A120

Police can now track your movements with license plate scanners, cellphone location data and GPS. Soon they’ll have drones, too. How do we align the new technology with our right to and expectation of privacy?

Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 15, for a discussion of law enforcement, technology, the Fourth Amendment and privacy rights with UConn Police Chief Barbara O’Connor and David McGuire, staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut. Kathleen McWilliams, managing editor of The Daily Campus, will serve as moderator.

The discussion will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room A120 of the Chemistry Building, 55 North Eagleville Road on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs. It is sponsored by the ACLU of Connecticut and its UConn chapter and is free and open to the public.
