Pasture Walk and Discussion: Improving Pasture Productivity M&K Dairy, 168 Roger Foote, Lebanon, CT Monday, June 1, 2015 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Kim and son, Cole Abell will lead the discussion 36 milking Holsteins (and 1 Jersey!) will show off their good looks - recently installed a system of fences, laneways, and waterers - newly reseeded pasture from a fall, no-till seeding with Orchardgrass/Brome/Rye/Clover

Discussion: - ways to improve pasture productivity and soil compaction - opportunity for participants to share what has been tried on their farms

Additionally: V-Town Ag Supply, UConn and NRCS will be on hand to answer questions about soil fertility and weed control, pasture condition scoring, testing for pasture feed quality, and soil quality tests to help with pasture productivity.
