MLK Spirit: "How to Survive a Plague" screening

In the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Rainbow Center will be screening the documentary, How To Survive A Plague.

The story of two coalitions -- ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) -- whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition.

June 28, 1969: NYC police raid a Greenwich Village Mafia-run gay bar, The Stonewall Inn. For the first time, patrons refuse to be led into paddy wagons, setting off a 3-day riot that launches the Gay Rights Movement."
