Frederick Luis Aldama: Science of Storytelling

Drawing from insights in the cognitive sciences, Professor Aldama will propose a dynamic model for understanding why it is we create and consume stories in all variety of aural, visual, and verbal formats: from Hieronymus Bosch to Kafka as well as contemporary Latino & Mexican cinema and comic books. Considering film, short stories, art, and comics, Aldama proposes a science of storytelling that encompasses the willful interplay between the creation of artistic texts and the meaning we give them. Aldama is Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor of English at Ohio State University
