UConn Digital Media & Design Digital Directions Speaker Series

"Making Games Weirder!" Guest Speaker: Naomi Clark, Game Designer

It's an interesting time for games: from big budget console games to board and card games, more and more creators are taking play in new and unexplored directions, relying less on redoing what's been done before and more on rethinking and questioning assumptions about how we can play together. How do game designers and developers come up with new concepts for games and how do they know if they've accomplished their goals? Naomi Clark will discuss the concept, design, and development process for her latest game, Consentacle, a card game of intimacy, trust, and sexual encounters with aliens.

The Digital Directions Speaker Series is sponsored by the Digital Media & Design Department of the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut. Look for upcoming talks in the Spring 2016 semester.
