UCONN Project Unbreakable is part of a larger national photography project that aims to raise awareness and encourage the act of healing through art for survivors of gender-based violence.

Our annual display features photographs of gender-based violence survivors quoting their attackers or words of support from friends and family, as well as paintings, drawings and poetry written by survivors or those who love them.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in any of the following ways: • Submit art, photos, or poems about their experiences • Submit messages of support or encouragement to victim-survivors • Be photographed while holding signs with quotes or messages related to their experience. Please note that the photographer can obscure anyone's identity who wishes to remain anonymous.

The photos and artwork will be displayed together in a semi-public exhibit at the Homer Babbidge Library from April 4-8th, 11:30am-2pm, set up so that only those who choose to enter the exhibit will be able to see the art and photos.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating, please email for more information.

Again, please note that anyone submitting art or being photographed can choose to remain anonymous.
