Wednesday, April 13, 2016
12:00pm – 5:00pm

Storrs Campus
State Capital, Hartford

Hello Huskies,

As some of you may know, UConn's budget is slated to get cut drastically by the state government. These cuts will have detrimental affects on our University and students in particular.

On April 13th, UConn will be holding an event at the Capitol Building in Hartford to show our support for saving UConn's budget. This will include a academic showcase to show how innovative UConn, and how critical our university is to our state's future. There will be various presentations and projects on display to show the amazing things our students and faculty are working on. There will also be a meet-and-greet with state legislators so students can have the opportunity to speak with their representatives and senators and convince them not to cut UConn's budget. Lastly, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and Medical Dental Student Government (MDSG) will be hosting a press conference to raise awareness to the whole state.

We want you to come with us! This event is a great experience and will give you the opportunity to have a hand in helping save UConn's budget and thus our future!

USG will be providing a FREE buses up to Hartford for all students who are interested in attending the event. That bus will be departing Storrs from the top of Fairfield Way at 12:15.

Here is the timeline for the event:

12:15 PM - Buses depart Storrs for State Capitol 2:00 - 3:00 PM - Academic showcase and connecting with legislators 3:15 PM - Press event hosted by USG and MDSG 4:15 PM - Depart Capitol for Storrs

We hope to see you there! Go Huskies!
