Earth Day Symposium: Resilience and the Big Picture Governing and Financing Innovations for Long Island Sound and Beyond

Please join elected officials, policymakers, industry executives, and academics as they navigate a path toward our resilient future. This symposium will focus on both the complexities of shared governance of Long Island Sound and the utilization of the tools of insurance and finance to achieve resilience in a changing climate. Hosted by UConn School of Law in Hartford, this symposium will include two sessions. The morning session, "Big Picture Planning in Long Island Sound and Beyond," will focus on marine spatial planning efforts and resilience at sea. The afternoon session, "Achieving Resilience through Insurance and Finance," will focus landward on creating our resilient future through financial mechanisms.

Speakers include: U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Commissioner Robert Klee (CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection), Commissioner Katharine Wade (CT Insurance Department), North Reg. Dir. Betsy Nicholson (NOAA OCM), RI Superintendent of Insurance Elizabeth Kelleher Dwyer, Brian Farnen (CT Green Bank), Exec. Dir. Grover Fugate (RI CRMC), Rebecca French (CIRCA), and others.
