TITLE: "Prefrontal Cortex Dysfunction in Mental Illness: Molecular Vulnerabilities and Opportunities"

Speaker: Amy F. T. Arnsten, Ph.D., Yale University Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):

1. Understand the basic organization and functions of the primate prefrontal association cortex.

2. Understand how dysfunction of prefrontal networks contributes to symptoms of schizophrenia, mood disorder, PTSD and ADHD.

3. Learn how arousal state, e.g. stress, impacts prefrontal function at the molecular level, providing proven therapeutic strategies for treatment.
