Palliative Care in Breast Cancer

Target Audience: Primary care physicians, medical oncologists, gynecologists, gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, nurses and any other clinicians involved in the management and treatment of patients with breast cancer.
Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):
1. Identify role of social work and other support team members.
2. Recognize key psychosocial issues for breast cancer patients.
3. Identify key elements of good communication skills with end of life breast cancer patients.
4. Identify the appropriate time and criteria for referral in patients living with breast cancer.
Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
