Computational Biology Core Open House

You are invited to the first annual Computational Biology Core Open House will take place on February 24th from 9:30am-4:00pm at UCH (Cell and Genome Sciences Building). We welcome researchers at all levels (students, postdocs, faculty) to attend and learn about the resources available to the UConn research community.

Schedule of Events:

We will introduce our recently expanded team as well as training and support opportunities for UConn affiliates. We will discuss access to hardware, software, and workshop opportunities. A tour of the HPC facility will be provided by CAM director, Ion Moraru. Ed Swindelles will present an overview of the computing resources available through BECAT.

The commercial GeneXplain package is available for FREE to UConn/UCHC members through CBC support. A live demo will be provided to introduce researchers to the user-friendly NGS and pathway analysis provided through this platform.

Leads from Center for Genome Innovation (CGI), Microbial Analysis, Resources, and Services (MARs), as well as the new Proteomics Core will describe the latest instrumentation and access.

Several community members will present an overview of their research that is being supported by resources available at the CBC in the afternoon.
