Humor in Health Care - Presented by John D. Kelly, IV, M.D., University of Pennsylvania Perleman School of Medicine John D. Kelly IV, M.D.

Please plan on joining us for the next School of Medicine Grand Rounds. Dr. Kelly is an orthopedic surgeon who believes in healing through compassionate humor. He has appeared in numerous comedy venues including Oprah Radio and writes extensively on issues of physician wellness and emotional health. He will convey the power of humor as a means for healing others and ourselves.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):

1. Recognize and appreciate the value of humor in healing and health promotion.

2. Understand: Illustrate how appropriate humor can be a positive influence on individuals and cultures.

3. Appreciate: Describe the role that positive humor has in guarding against health care provider burnout.
