Update and Review of Hereditary Breast Cancer Provided by University of Connecticut School of Medicine Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education and The Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center

Speaker: Jennifer Stroop, M.S., L.G.C.

Target Audience: Primary care physicians and APRN’s, medical oncologists, gynecologists, gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, physician assistants and any other clinicians involved in the management and treatment of patients with cancer.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Discern differences in breast cancer risk for genes associated with hereditary breast cancer (e.g. BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, ATM and CHEK2). 2. Interpret current NCCN management guidelines for multigene panels for hereditary breast.3. Identify ongoing challenges in interpreting results from multigene panel testing.

Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
