Professors Martha J. Cutter and Shawn Salvant will discussing research from their recent books. Professor Martha J. Cutter authored "The Illustrated Slave:Empathy, Graphic Narrative, and the Visual Culture of the Transatlantic Abolition Movement, 1800-1852". Professor Shawn Salvant authored "Blood Work: Imagining Race in American Literature, 1890-1940.
