INTENDED AUDIENCE: New hire clinical or research laboratory employees and current employees whose department has determined that they are occupationally exposed to human blood, body fluids or other potentially infectious materials in their work environment.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This class fulfills the training requirement of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard, 29CFR 1910.1030.Topics covered include epidemiology and symptoms of bloodborne pathogens, exposure reduction strategies, engineering controls, personal protective equipment, work practices and others required by the standard.
