CLIR-Food Marketing for Children

Wednesday, October 10, 2018
1:15pm – 2:45pm

UConn Depot Campus

The Institute of Medicine has identified the huge amount of unhealthy food marketing aimed at children as a "public health priority if the highest order", but food companies continue to spend billions doing it, often without parents' awareness or consent. Dr. Harris discusses how health advocates are fighting to protect our children from lifelong harmful effects. UConn Extension's Center for Learning in Retirement (CLIR) provides meaningful and serious intellectual activities for retirees and other adults from all walks of life, conducted in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. There are no academic requirements. A UConn CLIR program.
