Before Thanksgiving break Honors 4 Diversity would like to host an Indigenous People's Event to honor the native people of the United States and pay homage to their identity. We will discuss concerns of Indigenous People regarding national holidays like Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. We will also create small groups, watch a TED talk and interact in question and answer discussions. It is important to understand American history from the perspective of the Indigenous People and establish an understanding of our history from diverse viewpoints that have been silenced for generations. This is an Honors Event. Categories: Multiculturalism and Global Citizenship & Social Change, Service, and Sustainability
