Gary Rhule is a physician, public health practitioner and family caregiver advocate. He has a lifelong passion for books and reading. He is the author of Sailing on Broken Pieces: Essential Survival Skills for Recovery from Mental Illness that offers hard-earned insights from the triple perspective of an emergency room doctor, sibling, and caregiver of a brother with severe mental illness. It offers insight how to cope with the pressures of long work hours, how communities can best support families coping with mental illness, and the urgent need to close gaps in health disparity. He likes to travel and has done medical missions in the Caribbean and Africa. When he is not able to travel, he reads about far-away places that recreates that experience. He lives in Connecticut with his family. Learn more at www.
