Reducing risk and improving outcomes for Opioid Dependent Injured workers: the MA Department of Industrial accident opioid alternative treatment pathway Provided by University of Connecticut School of Medicine Office of Community and Continuing Medical Education and Division of Occupational & Environmental Medicine

Target Audience: occupational health professionals, primary care physicians and practitioners, health promotion professionals, health policy specialists.

Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to): 1. Recite non-opioid treatment options for the treatment of chronic pain 2. Review evidence regarding outcomes for long term opioid users after opioid weaning combined with functional restoration approaches. 3. Describe a novel opioid alternative treatment pathway program from MA DIA and explain how opioid alternate pathways are negotiated among patients, attorneys, providers, insurers and MA DIA
