INTENDED AUDIENCE: Any UConn employee who conducts renovations, demolitions, or performs maintenance on University buildings, including all maintenance and custodial personnel. Also, any employees who may be expected to buff or strip floor tile in buildings built prior to 1981. This is a mandatory, annual training as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Asbestos Awareness classes are held on the first Thursday of every month. Topics in the training include, but are not limited to, history of asbestos use, health effects, controls, locations and recognition of asbestos-containing materials, and UConn policies concerning asbestos.
